Overview
Atlantic City, 1920: The seaside resort on the US East Coast has become the capital of pleasure addicts thanks to gambling, prostitution and lots of alcohol. The corrupt city treasurer Enoch "Nucky" Thompson ensures that his city makes a good profit from this, but above all he himself. Prohibition's ban on alcohol is not supposed to change this - after all, his brother is the sheriff. But Nucky soon has to deal with the mafia and the FBI.
