Gerard Butler Joins the Cast of the "How to Train Your Dragon" Remake
The film is due to be released in cinemas on June 13, 2025
Casting addition for "How to Train your Dragon": Gerard Butler will once again portray the Viking boss Stoic.
The "How to Train Your Dragon" film series was a success right down the line: the three films grossed over 1.6 billion dollars worldwide and were also nominated for several Oscars. They were also followed by two series entitled "DreamWorks Dragons" and "Dragons: The Nine Realms". 15 years after the start of the film series, a live-action film adaptation of the first part is now set to follow. Dean DeBlois, who also directed the animated movies, will be responsible for the direction and screenplay.
As Deadline has now announced, Gerard Butler will once again return in his role as Viking boss Stoic - but this time in visual form. His son Hiccup, meanwhile, will be played by "The Black Phone" star Mason Thames. Nico Parker will take on the role of the young Astrid.
As things stand, the "How to Train Your Dragon" remake is set to be released in cinemas on June 13, 2025. Production should therefore be starting soon.
