Star-Studded J.J. Abrams Film "The Great Beyond" Sets Official Release Date
Multiple Hollywood stars are set to appear in the new film from the Star Wars director
This cast is quite impressive. For his new film "The Great Beyond", director J.J. Abrams is getting several Hollywood stars in front of the camera. Now the Warner production is taking the next step: the start date has been officially announced.
Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider reported on the first plot details some time ago. According to Sneider, the story begins with an author revealing that the mythical world of his popular fantasy saga actually exists. He then sends the main character on a journey. However, this plot information has not been officially confirmed.
The top-class cast
The top-class cast of actors is already known. This includes Hollywood star Glen Powell. According to insider information, he is to play the aforementioned main character. The cast also includes "Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega. Also taking part are "Sex Education" actress Emma Mackey and acting icon Samuel L. Jackson.
The start date of The Great Beyond
"The Great Beyond" is intended to be reminiscent of the 80s film "The Last Starfighter". An 80s feeling is nothing new for Abrams. His coming-of-age adventure film "Super 8" already relied heavily on this atmosphere. His last directorial work to date was a while ago. In 2019, he brought "Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker" to cinemas. A good seven years later, "The Great Beyond" will be released. The theatrical release of the film has been announced for November 13, 2026.
Glen Powell
Glen Powell is currently one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. He celebrated his big breakthrough with the action sequel "Top Gun: Maverick", in which he impressed as a self-confident pilot. Powell established himself as a versatile leading man with the romantic comedy "Anyone But You" with Sydney Sweeney and the disaster film "Twisters". In these roles, he impresses with both charm and physical presence. He also took on a leading role in Richard Linklater's "Hit Man". Most recently, he was seen in the Stephen King adaptation "The Running Man" by Edgar Wright.

Jenna Ortega

Emma Mackey became known for her role as Maeve Wiley in the Netflix hit series "Sex Education". She appeared in all four seasons. The actress has also appeared in films, for example in "Death on the Nile" and as one of the central characters in Greta Gerwig's "Barbie".
