Dune 2 delayed to 2024
The film was already finished
Warner Bros. is getting serious and finally postponing the science fiction sequel "Dune 2" until 2024.
A return to the desert planet Arrakis in the form of "Dune 2" was considered by many to be the cinema highlight of 2023. Now we have to be patient for a while, because Warner is bowing to the pressure of the strikers and is postponing its blockbuster to March 15, 2024.
However, the postponement of Dune also has a domino effect on other Warner productions: The monster smash "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," for example, has been postponed from March 15 to April 12, 2024, and the animated film "The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim" has been delayed by six months and will now open on December 12, 2024.
Due to the current strike of writers and actors, the productions are at a standstill - so the shooting of "Gladiator 2" , "Beetlejuice 2", "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2" or the new Tarantino "The Movie Critic" will probably also continue to be delayed.
So we can only hope that a solution to the strike will be found soon and that we will be able to enjoy the announced titles sooner rather than later.
