The franchise has enjoyed great popularity in the community since 1979 and is now to be relaunched with a film. Legendary and Bandai are joining forces for this. It's not exactly clear what the "Gundam" remake will be about, but there are already numerous anime series, spin-offs and video games, all of which should provide enough space for a new story. Comic book writer Brian K. Vaughan will be responsible for the screenplay, while Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct.
