After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most.

"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is an American animated film from Sony Pictures Animation from 2023. Development of the sequel began in December 2018. Joaquim Dos Santos and David Callaham were set to direct and write the screenplay respectively. Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld returned to their roles. The movie was to focus on Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy and explore a romance between them.
The film was officially announced in November 2019, with an original release date of April 2022, which was pushed back to October 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was later announced that the film would be split into two parts. The first trailer was released in December 2021. The theatrical release finally took place in June 2023.
The film received very positive reviews, similar to its predecessor. On Rotten Tomatoes, it achieved a 95% approval rating from critics and an average rating of 8.6 points. The public gave it 4.7 stars. On Metacritic, the film received a Metascore of 86 points. On CinemaScore, viewers gave it an "A" grade. The film was also very successful commercially, grossing 682.9 million US dollars worldwide.
The film was included in the American Film Institute's list of the ten most outstanding films of 2023. It received numerous nominations and awards, including Best Animated Film at the 2024 AAFCA Awards.
