It's finally official! Legendary Pictures and Denis Villeneuve are developing "Dune 3: Messiah" together. But before that, another explosive project is on the cards.

With "Dune: Part 2" , Denis Villeneuve created an epic science fiction work that once again took critics and fans by storm. This is also noticeable at the box office: Because the film currently stands at a worldwide box office takings of over 600 million dollars - and rising.

It is therefore not particularly surprising that calls for "Dune 3" became louder shortly after its cinema release. After all, Villeneuve hinted several times that he would also like to film Frank Herbert's second novel "Dune: Messiah" in order to bring his film trilogy to a close. One thing is certain: People want more "Dune" and, as Variety has now announced, they're getting more "Dune"! Legendary Pictures and Denis Villeneuve have confirmed that they are developing the third and final film.

First, however, the director wants to realize another project. To this end, the rights to the book adaptation of "Nuclear War: A Scenario" have been secured. It is based on the book of the same name by Annie Jacobsen, which was published this year and deals with the consequences of a potential nuclear war.
