"Jurassic World" Author to Write the "Transformers x G.I. Joe" Crossover
Chris Hemsworth could play the lead role
With the "Transformers x G.I. Joe" crossover, we can expect a true blockbuster highlight in the next few years. It has now been announced who is writing the screenplay.
The man in question is Derek Connolly – the author behind box office hits such as "Pokemon: Detective Pikachu" and the "Jurassic World" films. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he has been commissioned by Paramount to combine the worlds of "Transformers" and "G.I. Joe" into one huge event. This is not going to be easy: after all, both series have a huge fan base and are rich in background stories.
The idea of a crossover between the "Transformers" and the agents of "G.I. Joe" has been around since the 1980s, when the two franchises first met in the famous comic series "G.I. Joe and the Transformers". According to rumors, superstar Chris Hemsworth is set to take on the lead role in the action blockbuster. Michael Bay, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Steven Spielberg will be working behind the scenes as producers. The director's position and a release date have yet to be announced.
