Julianne Moore Plays the Lead Role in Pedro Almodóvar's "The Room Next Door"
The film is Almodóvar's first English-language project
Comeback with star power: director Pedro Almodóvar is back with his latest film "The Room Next Door" and has cast Julianne Moore in the lead role.
Pedro Almodóvars is undoubtedly one of the most renowned directors from Europe and has also won over critics and viewers overseas with works such as "Parallel Mothers" and "The Skin I Live In". Most recently, the 75-year-old Spaniard released "Strange Way of Life", a queer western starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal. However, as this was only a short film, the announcement that a feature-length film is now back on the director's agenda should generate interest.
"The Room Next Door" will be a drama between a mother and her daughter and is set to be filmed in New York this spring. According to Variety, the leading role will be played by Julianne Moore. She will be joined by Tilda Swinton and John Turturro.
Further details on the plot and a potential release date are not yet known.
