Sigourney Weaver in Talks for a Role in "The Mandalorian & Grogu"

Although "The Mandalorian" film is still a long time coming, there seems to be progress in terms of the cast. According to initial information, an absolute science fiction icon could be involved in the blockbuster.

We are talking about Sigourney Weaver, who is reportedly currently in talks with Lucasfilm, according to Variety. Weaver rose to fame as Ripley in Ridley Scott's classic "Alien". In the course of her impressive career, she went on to appear in "Ghostbusters" and "Avatar" by James Cameron, to name but a few. It is not yet clear which role Weaver could play in "The Mandalorian & Grogu". Very little is currently known about Lucasfilm's next movie project anyway. However, Jon Favreau is once again set to take over as director, while "Clone Wars" legend Dave Filoni is working as a producer.

"The Mandalorian & Grogu" will be released on May 22, 2026.
