The official reason for this is a revised schedule

Bad news from Sony: After the action movie "Kraven the Hunter" starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson was already postponed by a year in 2023, Sony is now pushing it back by another few months. The return of the "Karate Kid" is also a long time coming.

Variety has announced that "Kraven the Hunter" will not premiere until the end of this year - on December 13 to be precise. Initial speculation suggests that the further postponement of the blockbuster could possibly be linked to the lack of success of "Madame Web". According to Sony, however, it is due to overall revisions to the schedule.

"Kraven the Hunter" is thus moving to the original release date of the new "Karate Kid" film, which has been postponed to May 30, 2025. Apparently, the studio seems to want to focus on the finale of "Cobra Kai" first, which is due to be released in the second half of 2024.
