Scream 7: Mark Consuelos Joins the Cast

The film aims to return to the roots of the series

By Jonas Reichel on

After a three-year waiting period, the time has come next year: "Scream 7" will be released in cinemas. Deadline has now reported that "Riverdale" actor Mark Consuelos has joined the cast of the slasher.

Consuelos has made a name for himself in recent years, particularly in series: for example, he made an appearance in "Only Murders in the Building" and the spin-off "How I Met Your Father".

In addition to Consuelos, some familiar faces from the series are also back on board. Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox are returning to their iconic roles, as are Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown, who were previously seen in "Scream 5" and "Scream 6". We can also look forward to seeing "1883" actress Isabel May, Celeste O'Connor, Asa Germann and Mckenna Grace, among others.

Initial rumors suggest that "Scream 7" is aiming for a return to its roots – with a focus on Sidney Prescott and her family. However, more specific details are still under wraps. Following the departure of director Christopher Landon, the seventh film will now be directed by the franchise's original writer, Kevin Williamson. Now, after a few postponements and production problems, the release date has been set: "Scream 7" will hit the big screen on February 27, 2026.
