Sacha Baron Cohen as a Villain in Marvel's Ironheart?
A possible leak could provide a hint about the villain.
"Daredevil: Born Again" has now started, but the next Marvel series is not far away either: "Marvel's Ironheart". There are currently discussions about the series' villain. One name that keeps coming up is Sacha Baron Cohen.
"Marvel's Ironheart" has been in the works for a long time and there have been discussions about Sacha Baron Cohen's involvement for almost as long. But what role could the "Borat" actor take on? Since the first speculation about Cohen, the rumor mill has been buzzing with one possible role in particular: Mephisto.
Mephisto is a particularly powerful Marvel villain who first appeared in the comics in 1968. The character is based on Mephistopheles from Goethe's "Faust". There has long been discussion about when and where Mephisto could make his debut in the MCU. Whether it will be in "Marvel's Ironheart" has not yet been confirmed.
Leak of concept images?
The online portal ComicBookMovie is now reporting a possible leak of concept images. However, the portal cannot definitively confirm whether these are intended for "Marvel's Ironheart". However, ComicBookMovie comes to the conclusion: If the concept images were made for the MCU series, the villain could be someone else entirely. Further clues would point to the villain Dormammu, albeit interpreted in a more human way than in the comics. Dormammu would probably make more sense, as he is responsible for the superpowers of the antagonist "The Hood". This character is set to play a role in "Ironheart".
Whether Mephisto or Dormammu - the speculation surrounding Sacha Baron Cohen continues unabated. A final answer awaits us on June 24, 2025 at the latest, when "Marvel's Ironheart" will start on Disney+. Find out all the important information about the series in our series preview!
