News from the world of Westeros: after the prequel series "House of the Dragon" became a huge hit, the next project is already in the works: we're talking about "Aegon's Conquest".

The epic world of "Game of Thrones" still has a lot to offer, so fans are sure to be thrilled that the new spin-off is making progress. As the title suggests, the series will focus on the extremely brutal conquest of Westeros by Aegon I Targaryen. His invasion unified six of the seven kingdoms - only Dorne was able to resist.

As The Hollywood Reporter informs, HBO has been able to secure the sought-after writer Mattson Tomlin for the series, who will also be responsible for projects such as "The Batman 2", the comic book adaptation "BRZRKR" with Keanu Reeves and an animated "Terminator" series.

"Aegon's Conquest" will be a direct prequel to "House of the Dragon" and, according to initial sources, is set to follow a "back to basics" approach - whatever that may mean.

Since the grand finale of "Game of Thrones" in 2019, several ideas have been commissioned for potential material: for example, a sequel with Kit Harington's character Jon Snow and a prequel with the title "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight".

Although there are no concrete plans for a release date for "Aegon's Conquest" yet, there is no reason to be sad, after all, "House of the Dragon" is set to kick off its second season this summer!
