New "M3GAN" Spin-Off in the Style of the 1990s

Fans of creepy killer dolls are sure to have plenty to look forward to over the next few years! In addition to the sequel "M3GAN 2.0", a spin-off with a completely different concept is now also in the pipeline.
According to Deadline, the film, titled "SOULM8TE", is an erotic thriller in the style of the 90s. The story centers on a man who, after losing his recently deceased wife, acquires an AI-powered android to help him cope with his grief. But of course this plan gets completely out of hand when he tries to turn the robot into a new partner with a mind of her own.
The spin-off is to be directed by Kate Dolan, known for the horror film "You Are Not My Mother" and the thriller series "The Tourist" starring Jamie Dornan. The screenplay is also by Dolan, based on a story by James Wan, Ingrid Bisu and Rafael Jordan. Behind the scenes are James Wan and Jason Blum with their horror companies Atomic Monster and Blumhouse. "SOULM8TE" will open in cinemas on January 2, 2026, while "M3GAN 2.0" will be released on June 27, 2025.
