According to Variety, Gerard Butler is expected to return as the badass cop "Big Nick". O'Shea Jackson Jr., who starred in the first two movies, is also expected to take on a leading role again. The actor and musician expressed his enthusiasm for the continuation of the franchise and stated in an interview that he would like to see "Den of Thieves" become a long-lasting film series similar to "Fast & Furious".

Lionsgate is currently in negotiations with Christian Gudegast, the director and screenwriter of the previous movies, to get him on board for the third installment of the action series.

Whether "Den of Thieves 3" can be realized faster than its predecessor this time around remains to be seen. But as the team behind and in front of the camera remains largely the same, fans of the series will certainly be looking forward to the next action hit.
