New Director Found: Gareth Edwards Will Direct "Jurassic World 4"
The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on July 2, 2025
We have exciting updates on "Jurassic World": distributor Universal Pictures and "Deadpool 2" director David Leitch have parted ways due to creative differences. However, the next big name is ready to step in: The next installment of the "Jurassic World" film series is now to be directed by Gareth Edwards.
According to Deadline, the decision was made after a week of intensive talks between the director and the executives of Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. Producers Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall, veterans of the franchise, seemed delighted with the new candidate. Edwards has plenty of experience and previously impressed with movies such as "Godzilla", "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and "The Creator". Pre-production on the current project is expected to begin straight after the deal is finalized.
The new "Jurassic World" movie is set to present us with a radically new take on the popular dinosaur franchise. It will presumably do without any familiar faces from the franchise - so Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jeff Goldblum are not likely to be involved. "Jurassic World 4" is due to open in theaters on July 2, 2025, so we can't wait to see how quickly production will actually move forward.
