Kevin Feige Confirms: "The Fantastic Four" is Set in an Alternate Universe of the MCU!
There are also first set pictures of Superman
Already suspected by fans and now confirmed by Marvel boss Kevin Feige himself: The reboot of "The Fantastic Four" is set in an alternate universe of the familiar MCU!
Feige made the announcement in the first episode of the official Marvel podcast. Specifically, the plot of "The Fantasic Four" will be set in an alternate 1960s New York. Filming is also set to begin at the end of July after the San Diego Comic-Con. As usual with Marvel, the plot details of "The Fantastic Four" are rather limited. In the comics, the four main characters become superheroes after being exposed to cosmic rays in space. However, the multiverse - which determines the current phases of the MCU anyway - is likely to play a decisive role.
"The Fantastic Four" will be directed by Matt Shakman, who has already worked on "WandaVision" in the MCU. The four heroes will be played by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. We can also look forward to Julia Garner as the female version of the Silver Surfer, Ralph Ineson as the world eater Galactus as well as John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser in two as yet unknown roles. "The Fantastic Four" will celebrate its premiere on July 25, 2025.
Leaked Photos Show New Details About Superman
As for the DCU: Leaked photographs from the set of James Gunn's "Superman" reveal more details about the start of the DCU. While the web continues to discuss the iconic character's current suit - namely the red underpants - two characters are the main topics of conversation.
Number 1 is Mister Terrific, played by Edi Gathegi. Mister Terrific, alias Michael Holt, is considered the third smartest man in the world in the DC universe after Batman and Lex Luthor and is a member of the Justice Society. Although he has no superhuman powers, he uses advanced technology to his benefit. The character has previously been seen in the series "Arrow".
In the leaks, Superman is also led away by a black-masked character with a big U on his chest. Fans speculate that this could be Ultraman - Clark Kent's evil doppelganger - or Ulysses alias Neil Quinn, who is working with the military against Superman.
In addition to David Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, a number of other stars will also be involved in the project: for example Nicholas Hoult as antagonist Lex Luther, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern and "House of the Dragon" star Milly Alcock as Supergirl. "Superman" will be released in theaters on July 11, 2025.
