"Cliffhanger" with Sylvester Stallone gets a sequel
Part 1 celebrates its 30th anniversary this year
Spectacular action in coming: The cult classic "Cliffhanger" is set to receive a sequel, which is to be filmed largely in Germany.
As Dark Horizons reports, more than half of the filming for "Cliffhanger 2" will take place in Bavaria - specifically in the Penzing Studios and Munich city center.
Sylvester Stallone will once again slip into the role of Gabe Walker, albeit on a much smaller scale than in "Cliffhanger 1". This time, the story centers on his daughter, who has to free her father from the clutches of a kidnapper. The film will be directed by "Plane" director Ric Roman Waugh, who will be adapting a screenplay by Mark Bianculli. Bianculli has already worked as a writer for the Amazon series "Hunters".
There is no cinema release date for "Cliffhanger 2" yet. However, we can assume that the film could be released in the course of 2025.
