Kyle Chandler in Talks for the Lead Role in the DC Series "Lanterns"
Josh Brolin was originally considered for the role
A few weeks ago, rumors were already circulating that Josh Brolin was to take on the role of Hal Jordan in the DC series "Lanterns". However, negotiations failed. According to Variety, a new actor is now in the running: Emmy winner Kyle Chandler.
The high-profile production is based on the popular DC comic "Green Lantern" and is seen by some as the great hope for the new DCU. According to sources, Chandler will play the role of Hal Jordan, one of the most iconic characters in the "Green Lantern" universe. Chandler is known from a wide range of productions, including series such as "Bloodline" and "Mayor of Kingstown". In 2013, he was also seen alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Wolf of Wall Street".
"Lanterns" tells the story of the two intergalactic law enforcement officers Hal Jordan and John Stewart, who are investigating a dark murder case in the USA. In the process, they discover that the crime is part of a much larger mystery that affects the entire Earth.
"Lanterns" is written by Chris Mundy, who has already worked on "Ozark" and "True Detective". A release date has not been set yet.
