Casting news for "Sonic 4": Sonic voice actor Ben Schwartz revealed on Instagram that Amy Rose will be voiced by actress Kristen Bell. She is no newcomer to voice roles, having also voiced Anna in "Frozen".

Amy Rose was already teased in the post-credits scene of "Sonic the Hedgehog 3", sparking excitement among fans. The hedgehog girl is known for her affection for Sonic. And even though the feelings are rather one-sided, she confidently refers to herself as Sonic's girlfriend.

There are also hints of Jim Carrey making a comeback as supervillain Dr. Robotnik. Negotiations with Paramount Pictures are reportedly underway, but official confirmation is still pending. For many fans, one thing's for sure: a "Sonic" movie without Jim Carrey would be a huge disappointment. "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" is set to hit theaters on March 19, 2027.

Kristen Bell's most famous films: From comedy star to Disney princess

Kristen Bell has been one of the most popular faces in Hollywood since the 2000s. With her blend of humor, naturalness, and emotional depth, she has secured a firm place in the film world in comedies as well as animated and family films. Her most famous films impressively demonstrate her versatility – from biting relationship comedies to global Disney successes.

Breakthrough in cinema: Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Bell celebrated one of her first major cinema successes in 2008 with "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". In the comedy, she plays the successful actress Sarah Marshall, who breaks up with her long-term boyfriend—only to meet him again on their vacation together. Although her character initially seems like the classic "ex-girlfriend," Bell gives her a surprising amount of depth. She portrays Sarah as a self-confident woman with her own insecurities and ambitions. The film was a hit and made Bell known to a wide cinema audience.

Romance and magic: When in Rome

In 2010, she took on the lead role in the romantic comedy "When in Rome". In it, she plays a career-oriented New Yorker who steals coins from a legendary fountain in Rome – with the result that several men suddenly fall hopelessly in love with her. The film thrives on Bell's charm and her talent for comedic timing. Even though the reviews were mixed, she proved here that she can easily carry a romantic comedy.

The global breakthrough: Frozen

Kristen Bell celebrated the greatest success of her career in 2013 with Disney's animated film "Frozen". She lent her voice to the courageous and optimistic Princess Anna, delighting millions of viewers worldwide. The film became a cultural phenomenon and is one of the most successful animated films of all time.

Bell brought a lot of humor and warmth to the character, making Anna a modern Disney heroine – spontaneous, a little clumsy, but always courageous. In 2019, she returned in "Frozen 2". The sequel deepened the relationship between Anna and Elsa and showed a more mature, responsible side to the character. Both films cemented Bell's international superstar status.

Cult figure on the screen: Veronica Mars

Bell had already enjoyed great success on television with the role of the clever detective. In 2014, she returned to the big screen in the film adaptation "Veronica Mars". The film was made possible by a successful crowdfunding campaign and is considered a milestone for fan-funded film projects.

As a quick-witted investigator, Bell showed a more serious, analytical side here. The character is intelligent, independent, and emotionally complex – qualities that Bell portrays with great sensitivity. "Veronica Mars" stands out clearly from her purely comedic roles and underscores her acting range.

Success with ensemble comedies: Bad Moms

In 2016, she scored another box office hit with "Bad Moms". Alongside Mila Kunis and Kathryn Hahn, Bell plays an overwhelmed mother who rebels against society's pressure to be perfect. The film struck a chord with audiences and appealed especially to women who recognized themselves in the exaggerated everyday situations.

Bell embodies the insecure but lovable Kiki with great authenticity. The sequel, "A Bad Mom's Christmas", followed in 2017, humorously continuing the theme of family and expectations during the Christmas season. Both films strengthened her reputation as a modern comedy actress.

Kristen Bell's best-known films show an actress who cannot be pigeonholed into one genre. Whether as a Disney princess, a sarcastic detective, or a chaotic mother, Bell always brings warmth, humor, and credibility to her characters. With "Frozen" in particular, she reached a global audience and made animation history.

At the same time, she remains true to the comedy genre, where she can fully exploit her strengths. Her filmography proves that talent, versatility, and authenticity enable a sustainable career – and that is precisely what makes Kristen Bell one of the most influential actresses of her generation.
