Hancock 2: Will Smith Talks About "Really Cool Idea"
The superstar already has an actress in mind for the sequel
There has been no talk of a sequel to the superhero adventure "Hancock" for a long time. Now there is an update from lead actor Will Smith: he spoke about "Hancock 2" in a Twitch stream by Canadian streamer xQc. He also let slip a few words about "I Am Legend 2".
Hancock 2
But first let's talk about "Hancock": Will Smith appeared in this somewhat unusual superhero film as a burnt-out protagonist who tries to maintain law and order in his unconventional way. Since its release in 2008, there have been recurring considerations for a sequel. At the time, "Hancock" director Peter Berg said that it was all just a matter of timing, as everyone involved had their own projects.
Will Smith has finally given us an update and talks about a - quote - "really cool Hancock 2 idea". And he also seems to have already found an ideal actress: Smith revealed that Zendaya is to be won over for a role in the sequel. The "Dune" actress will thus be approached to see whether she would be available for "Hancock 2".
I Am Legend 2
Will Smith also opened up about "I Am Legend 2". He and "Creed" star Michael B. Jordan recently sat down for a week to discuss the sequel and the characters. The movie is therefore still in development. However, with both productions, fans will surely have to remain patient until the sequels are released in theaters.

Movies and Series for Fans of "Hancock"
"Hancock" is an extraordinary film that questions the superhero genre in a humorous and different way. In "Hancock", Will Smith is portrayed as an alcoholic, morally ambivalent superhero who comes to terms with his own shortcomings. Fans of this movie might be interested in other productions that deal with similar themes such as antiheroes, superpowers, humorous approaches and complex characters. Here we have put together a selection of movies and series that fit in well with "Hancock".

Deadpool
"Deadpool" is perhaps the perfect choice for fans of "Hancock" who are looking for an unconventional superhero. In this movie, Ryan Reynolds plays the rude, sarcastic Wade Wilson, who becomes Deadpool after a drastic change due to an experiment that gives him superhuman healing abilities. The humor is sharp-tongued, the anti-hero character as complex as Hancock, and the movie has a similar anarchic feel. If you enjoyed Hancock, you might like Deadpool's sassy nature and moral dilemmas. Of course, the two other sequels to "Deadpool" should not be left unmentioned here either. "Deadpool 2" as well as "Deadpool & Wolverine" are also highly recommended for "Hancock" fans.

The Boys
The series "The Boys" is a dark and satirical examination of superheroes. In a world where superheroes are not always the moral role models they pretend to be, the show reveals the dark side of the famous "heroes". Like "Hancock", "The Boys" also addresses the question of what happens when superheroes not only possess supernatural powers, but also profound human weaknesses. The series provides a mixture of black humor, brutal battles and an intense reflection on power and responsibility.
Kick-Ass
"Kick-Ass" is another movie that turns the superhero genre upside down. The movie follows a normal teenager who decides to become a superhero even though he has no powers whatsoever. The movie is a mix of humor, action and black comedy, similar to "Hancock". Even though "Kick-Ass" is less "gloomy" than "Hancock", it still offers a refreshing perspective on the superhero concept, where the protagonists are neither infallible nor without weaknesses.
The Incredibles
Anyone looking for a humorous superhero movie with a slightly more optimistic touch might enjoy "The Incredibles". The Pixar film revolves around the Parr family, who have superpowers but live in a world where superheroes have been banned. The movie highlights the lives of superheroes trying to make their way in a normal world, which has parallels to Hancock, whose heroics are complicated by his unconventional character.
Watchmen
If you liked the sometimes somewhat dark atmosphere of "Hancock", then "Watchmen" might also pique your interest. The movie adaptation of Alan Moore's comic of the same name depicts a world in which superheroes are not only gifted with supernatural abilities, but also have to deal with moral conflicts and personal dramas. The movie takes a critical look at the role of superheroes in society and deals with similar themes to "Hancock" - the moral conflict between superpowers and responsibility. In addition to the 2009 film adaptation, a series based on "Watchmen" was also released ten years later.
