The announcement that "Moana 2" is to hit theaters later this year came as a big surprise. After all, Part 1 was a huge success, so expectations for Part 2 are unlikely to be low. A new picture now shows us our well-known heroine in action!

The image shared by Walt Disney shows Moana, who seems to be in a tricky situation. Based on her look, however, it is fairly easy to tell: She is not afraid at all - on the contrary. In the background, though, there is a strange creature - half mountain, half fish. At least that's what the eyes and hooks suggest. The story of "Moana 2" picks up three years after part 1. This time, the heroine sets off in search of people beyond the shores of Motunui. She is accompanied by a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers.

Originally, "Moana 2" was supposed to be a series for Disney+, but was then made into a feature film. On June 27, 2025, a live-action film adaptation of its predecessor is also due to be released, with Dwayne Johnson in the role of Maui, for example. But first, part 2 of the animated adventure will be released in theaters on November 27, 2024. We can't wait to see it!
