A short teaser was published via Instagram
"Game of Thrones" fans should continue to get their money's worth in the coming years – because HBO has already commissioned the third season of the prequel "House of the Dragon".
According to HBO programming boss Francesca Orsi, they are thrilled with the efforts that the entire team has put into the production of "House of the Dragon" season 2. They can hardly wait to continue the story of the Targaryens in a third season. A short teaser was released on the official HBO Instagram channel, visually emphasizing the announcement once again.
The prequel "House of the Dragon" is based on the work "Fire and Blood" written by George R.R. Martin and tells the story of a war within House Targaryen that took place around 200 years before the events of "Game of Thrones". According to initial information, the second season will be devoted entirely to the bloody civil war. A cruel revenge plot by Rhaenyra and Daemon will likewise play a significant role, according to screenwriter Sara Hess. The new season can be seen from June 16 via HBO.
