Jack Reynor Cast for "The Mummy" Reboot
The reboot opens in cinemas on April 17, 2026
In December last year, it was announced that "The Mummy" would be getting another reboot. Now a first actor has been confirmed: the name is Jack Reynor.
Reynor has already succeeded in making a name for himself with a number of film and series productions. These include the horror film "Midsommar" by Ari Aster and the Netflix series "The Perfect Couple".
According to Deadline, it is not yet known which role the actor will slip into. However, it is not the titular mummy. The movie will be directed by horror expert Lee Cronin, who has already impressed with "The Hole in the Ground" and "Evil Dead Rise". In contrast to the iconic trilogy with Brendan Fraser and the failed 2017 attempt with Tom Cruise, the new film will focus more on the horror genre again.
Behind the scenes is the horror studio Blumhouse, known for hits such as "Five Nights at Freddy's" and the "Paranormal Activity" series. Filming is taking place in Spain and Ireland, among other places. "The Mummy" opens in cinemas on April 17, 2026.
