Uncharted film adaptation: Tom Holland is getting company!
The roles of the two female newcomers are still a secret
After months of postponements and director changes, the Uncharted movie finally returns to normality. The video game adaption is now - it's hard to believe - slowly but surely heading towards the start of the shooting. But the two main actors Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg don't have to stand alone in front of the camera, because according to a report of the Hollywood Reporter the project is now getting energetic personal support from Antonio Banderas! The role of the Spanish-born actor will be kept strictly under wraps at the moment. Besides him, two actresses will join the cast, Tati Gabrielle and Sophia Ali. They are probably known to a rather smaller audience, however, they played among others in the Netflix series "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" and "Truth or Duty". Not surprisingly, the roles of the two female newcomers have not yet been revealed. The Hollywood Reporter claims to have found out that Tati Gabrielle is supposed to play the female lead role in the movie. It also seems to be certain that director Ruben Fleischer, in contrast to his predecessors, will not drop out.
Furthermore, a few days ago Mark Wahlberg gave some more detailed information in an interview. Among other things the script is supposed to be a mixture of "Indiana Jones" and "The Thomas Crown Affair". It also has the typical elements of heist and adventure movies. Tom Holland even goes so far as to say that Uncharted has the best script he has ever seen. The shooting will start very soon, but unfortunately an exact date hasn't been fixed yet. The release of Uncharted is scheduled for March 5, 2021.
