"Elden Ring" Creator Comments on a Possible Film Adaptation
The DLC "Shadow of the Erdtree" was released a few days ago
Even two years after the release of the open-world game "Elden Ring", the hype remains unbroken. The recently released DLC "Shadow of the Erdtree", in which players once again have to deal with a number of tough bosses, is likely to have contributed to this. But that's by no means all, as the creators have now expressed their interest in a movie adaptation of "Elden Ring".
In an interview with the Guardian, FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that he sees no reason to turn down a movie adaptation of "Elden Ring". At the same time, though, he also stressed that he or FromSoftware do not have sufficient knowledge or the ability to create a movie on their own. A reliable partner would therefore be required with whom a potential film could be made.
This should, of course, prompt a number of studios to take action that have been responsible for video game adaptations in recent months and years. First and foremost, Sony and Warner. But streaming services Netflix and Amazon are also likely to join the conversation - after all, the adaptations of "Fallout" and "Arcane" were a huge success. So it will be exciting to find out whether the "Elden Ring" movie will actually be produced. It is certainly not going to flop due to a lack of fan interest.
