Masters of the Universe: Nicholas Galitzine Plays He-Man!
Travis Knight is set to direct
The new He-Man has been announced! Nicholas Galitzine will embody the iconic prince in the live-action movie adaptation of "Masters of the Universe".
Galitzine, who was last featured in the romantic comedy "The Idea of You" alongside Anne Hathaway, was able to snatch the coveted role of the Prince of Eternia, according to Variety.
In terms of plot, the blockbuster produced by Amazon MGM will be about ten-year-old Prince Adam, who crashes his spaceship on Earth and is then separated from his magical Power sword. He sets off in search of the powerful weapon and returns to his home planet two decades later to defend it against his opponent Skeletor. However, he must first uncover his own past in order to finally become the mighty He-Man.
"He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" was a huge hit for toy manufacturer Mattel in the 80s. This was followed by animated series and a movie - which, incidentally, bankrupted the film distributor Cannon Films at the time. After the gigantic success of "Barbie", however, the live-action movie adaptation of "Masters of the Universe" should be viewed with far more optimism. The live-action film, directed by "Bumblebee" director Travis Knight, is scheduled to open in theaters on June 5, 2026.
