"Jurassic Park" Star Cast for "Godzilla x Kong 3"
Filming of the MonsterVerse movie started in Queensland, Australia early April
Sam Neill will once again have to deal with monsters: This time, though, the "Jurassic Park" star won't have to deal with dinosaurs, but will face even bigger creatures. As revealed, for example, by The Hollywood Reporter, the studio Legendary has cast Neill for "Godzilla x Kong 3".
With his iconic performance as paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant in "Jurassic Park", Sam Neill became a mainstay of blockbuster cinema. The actor appeared in three movies in the dinosaur franchise. Besides Steven Spielberg's original film from 1993, his character also played a role in "Jurassic Park 3". In "Jurassic World: Dominion", he made his most recent comeback in the dinosaur film series alongside Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern.
Now Sam Neill is ready to step into the world of the MonsterVerse. It is not known yet which role he will take on in "Godzilla x Kong 3". Other cast members include "Stranger Things" actor Matthew Modine, "Fear the Walking Dead" star Alycia Debnam-Carey and Kaitlyn Dever, who can currently be seen in the second season of "The Last of Us".
The MonsterVerse kicked off in 2014 with "Godzilla" and has continued to expand ever since. In "Godzilla vs. Kong" and "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire", both giants were shown together. The upcoming third part of the series will be directed by "I Am Mother" director Grant Sputore. The new clash of the titans awaits us in theaters from March 26, 2027.
The Most Popular Films With Sam Neill
Jurassic Park
"Jurassic Park" was a milestone in blockbuster cinema. Based on the novel by Michael Crichton, director Steven Spielberg created a world where genetically revived dinosaurs live in a theme park — until things spiral out of control. The film impressed not only with its groundbreaking special effects for the time, but also with its sense of suspense, its iconic score by John Williams, and its memorable characters. Sam Neill plays the paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant, though the true stars of the movie are the breathtakingly staged dinosaur threats. To this day, the movie is considered one of the greatest adventure movies of all time and set new standards for visual effects in cinema.
Jurassic Park 3
Eight years after the original film, the franchise returned with "Jurassic Park 3", this time directed by Joe Johnston. The story once again brings Dr. Alan Grant to a dinosaur-infested island — though this time against his will, after being tricked by a supposedly wealthy couple into joining a dangerous rescue mission. The movie focuses more heavily on direct action and is the shortest installment in the original trilogy. While it received less critical acclaim than its predecessors, many fans still consider it an entertaining entry in the series thanks to its intense pacing and new dinosaur species like the Spinosaurus.

Jurassic World: Dominion
"Jurassic World: Dominion" brings back the original heroes from the first movies — including Sam Neill as Alan Grant — and unites them with the new main characters from the "Jurassic World" series. The film tells the story of a world where dinosaurs now roam freely and influence the global ecosystem. "Dominion" is both a nostalgic trip and a modern action spectacle. The return of iconic characters and the worldwide scale of the narrative were central elements of the movie. While critical reception was mixed, it achieved major commercial success.
The Piano
"The Piano" is a quiet, intense drama about a mute woman (played by Holly Hunter) who emigrates to New Zealand in the 19th century with her daughter and a valuable piano, to marry a man she has never met. The movie captivates with its visual beauty, atmospheric depth, and nuanced performances from its lead actors. "The Piano" is regarded as one of the most significant works in New Zealand cinema history.
Event Horizon
"Event Horizon" is a dark blend of science fiction and horror that impresses with its oppressive atmosphere and nightmarish visual style. The story centers on a spaceship that reappears years after disappearing — bringing with it a mystery that defies human comprehension. The film's claustrophobic direction is reminiscent of movies like "Alien", but it uniquely combines science fiction with occult horror. Initially met with critical skepticism, "Event Horizon" has gained cult status over the years.
