Margot Robbie in Pirates of the Caribbean
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer gives an update on the future of the film series
From "Barbie" to the new "Pirates of the Caribbean": Margot Robbie is now confirmed to be part of the next pirate sequel after all! Many had already dismissed the idea of her involvement: For a while, there was talk of a planned spin-off centered on a female pirate crew – with Robbie in the leading role. Later, however, it was reported that the project had been shelved.
But now there's a new development: Producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed in an interview with the entertainment portal TheWrap that, at one point, there were two scripts for the new "Pirates of the Caribbean" film. One was discarded. Could that have been the Margot Robbie movie? The producer cautiously replied, "She's still involved."
This naturally invites speculation. It is unlikely that the mentioned spin-off will actually materialize. However, we can very well imagine Margot Robbie's role appearing as a regular character in the new "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie – hopefully alongside Johnny Depp and other familiar faces.
At least the script for Part 6 was penned by Ted Elliott. He has long been closely associated with "Pirates of the Caribbean" and was involved in the first four movies. Other writers are currently refining the final version. It is still unclear when we can expect the new pirate adventure in theaters, but at least pre-production appears to be in its final stages.

Margot Robbie: and her biggest film roles
Margot Robbie is without question one of the most famous actresses of her generation. In just a few years, the Australian has developed from a newcomer to a permanent fixture in Hollywood. With her charisma, acting range and flair for strong roles, she has not only won over the critics but also thrilled millions of viewers worldwide.
Margot Robbie's breakthrough
Robbie shot to fame alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 2013 with Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street". She took on the role of Naomi Lapaglia, the wife of eccentric stockbroker Jordan Belfort. The film was a huge success and also marked Robbie's entry into Hollywood's A-league. Today, "The Wolf of Wall Street" is considered by some fans and critics to be one of the best films of the 2010s.
Superheroine with abysses
Robbie entered the world of comic book adaptations with the role of the crazy anti-heroine Harley Quinn in "Suicide Squad". Her character is a mix of madness, charm and vulnerability. Overall, however, the film was less well received. With "Birds of Prey", the character received her solo film. In "The Suicide Squad" by James Gunn, Robbie was once again in front of the camera as Harley Quinn.

An Oscar nomination and a Tarantino film
In the biopic "I, Tonya", Robbie played the controversial figure skater Tonya Harding – a role that not only earned her recognition, but also an Oscar nomination for "Best Actress in a Leading Role". With great flair, she portrayed a woman caught between ambition, abuse and public humiliation.
In 2019, she once again took on a role in a film by a major director. She stood in front of the camera for Quentin Tarantino in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". Here she was seen as actress Sharon Tate. A sequel to "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is currently in development. This time, however, Tarantino is only responsible for the screenplay. "The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth" is being directed by master director David Fincher.

Barbie breaks records
Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" became a mega hit – with Margot Robbie in the title role. The film became a pop culture phenomenon worldwide. Robbie played a character who is catapulted into the real world and has to deal with questions of identity, femininity and self-determination. "Barbie" cemented Robbie's status as an A-lister in Hollywood.
Her latest movie: A Big Bold Beautiful Journey
Margot Robbie can soon be seen in cinemas in her new film "A Big Bold Beautiful Journey". She takes on one of the two leading roles and plays alongside Colin Farrell. The film tells the story of a duo who embark on an unexpected journey. You can get a feel for the movie with the trailer. The movie will be released on October 2, 2025.
