Kraven the Hunter: The first trailer of the Spider-Man antihero is here!
It is the third new SSU character with its own movie after Venom and Morbius
The next great Spider-Man anti-hero is here: Kraven the Hunter has finally received his first trailer! The film presents the new big character of the Sony Spider-Man Universe after Venom and Morbius.
Kraven is played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass, Godzilla, Bullet Train). Right at the beginning of the trailer we see him already chasing a car on foot with superhuman strength. Off-screen, in a Russian accent, we hear: "My son, never show mercy. They are prey, we are hunters." The voice comes from Russel Crowe, who plays Kraven's father. He is involved in criminal activities and makes it clear to his two sons never to show weakness - otherwise they would suffer like their mother.
During a lion attack, the injured Kraven is promptly left behind by his family. A bad idea, because he returns with animal powers and is bent on revenge. Various villains are henceforth killed with knives, bear traps, crossbows or bare hands, and one or the other body part is bitten off. Calypso, played by Ariana DeBose, asks about his motivation. Answer, "My father puts evil into the world. I take it out." Finally, there's a first exciting look at the villain Rhino.
The trailer promises brutal action and plenty of black humor, and is rather restrained with flashy CGI effects. This is exactly what director J. C. Chandor had promised in advance. In addition, countless spiders can be seen in one shot - a first hint of Kraven's connection to Spider-Man? We'll find out more on October 6, 2023, when "Kraven the Hunter" hits theaters.
