Fantastic Four: Cast and Release Date Revealed
Pedro Pascal was considered a fan favorite
The time has finally come: Marvel announced the cast and a new release date for "Fantastic Four".
Just in time for Valentine's Day, a concept image was published via X in which the four superheroes can be seen together in a cozy atmosphere. The image features fan favorite Pedro Pascal in the role of Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch and, of course, Ben Grimm, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
As part of the cast reveal, a new release date for the eagerly awaited blockbuster was also announced: The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.
Although the release date has now been set, the casting of Dr. Doom remains a well-kept secret. The first rumors that Cillian Murphy could possibly take on the role were already circulating on the Internet last year.
As usual with Marvel, the plot details of "The Fantastic Four" are rather limited. In the comics, the four friends become superheroes after being exposed to cosmic rays in space. Each member of the team develops unique abilities that make them heroes and protectors of the world. Reed can stretch his body, Sue can become invisible and create force fields, Johnny can surround himself in flames and fly, and Ben transforms into a powerful stone creature.
The director for "Fantastic Four" is Matt Shakman, who has already won over audiences with his work on "WandaVision" and "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters". Filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
