First Image of "Mufasa: The Lion King" Revealed
The movie opens in theaters on December 20, 2024
First impressions of the new Lion King: Via The DisInsider, a first image of the eagerly awaited prequel "Mufasa" has now been released to the public.
We can see the little Mufasa as a lion cub looking into the distance in a barren landscape. The similarities to his son Simba are very striking - in "The Lion King", Simba also had to come to terms with his destiny as ruler of the Pride Lands.
The story of "Mufasa: The Lion King" takes place before the events of the Disney classic and as the title suggests, tells us the story of Mufasa. Separated from his parents by a flood, he later meets the young Scar. The two become friends and subsequently grow up together like brothers. As the years go by, they are confronted by a group of other lions who threaten their existence - so Mufasa and Scar must flee. On their journey, they encounter all kinds of dangers that put their loyalty to each other to the test.
The movie, directed by "Moonlight" director Barry Jenkins, will be released in theaters on December 20, 2024.
