The biggest surprise of the cast announcement is probably the numerous "X-Men" actors, above all Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

Who is Missing?

Although it's a great cast, some stars that many Marvel fans had hoped for are still missing. First and foremost, of course, Tom Holland as Spider-Man: according to industry legend The InSneider, "Spider-Man 4" will take place at the same time as the events of "Doomsday" and therefore the famous spider will not appear in this movie yet. But keep in mind that this is not official information.

Also missing from the announcement are Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Chris Evans as Captain America, Charlie Cox as Daredevil and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.

When is Avengers 5 Coming?

Anthony and Joe Russo will once again be responsible for directing. The brothers have already directed "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame". "Endgame" was the last film in the superhero series to date in 2019. With "Avengers: Doomsday", the fifth part is now imminent. The start of production for the movie was also announced in the livestream. Filming is likely to run until summer in London. The theatrical release is scheduled for May 1, 2026.

Avengers 6: Secret Wars

Part 6 is set to follow around a year later: "Secret Wars" is to be filmed immediately after "Doomsday", also by the Russo brothers. Here, too, a theatrical release date has already been fixed: "Secret Wars" awaits us on May 7, 2027.
