"Adventure Time" Film and Spin-Off Series in Development

Reason to rejoice for all "Adventure Time" fans! A number of new projects are on the way. These include a movie and two spin-off series.

Although details on the "Adventure Time" film are still scarce, "Steven Universe" creator Rebecca Sugar and Patrick McHale, co-creator of "Over the Garden Wall", will be involved in the project, as will Adam Muto, showrunner of "Adventure Time".

According to Variety, "Adventure Time: Side Quests" is a children's series that will focus on Finn's childhood. The series will once again revolve around Finn and Jake, who experience epic adventures and fight monsters together. Unlike the original series or the spin-off "Fionna and Cake", "Side Quests" will not offer a complex plot spread over several seasons, but rather a series of individual stories. And then there is "Adventure Time: Heyo BMO" – a pre-school series starring the lovable video game console BMO. Two-time Emmy winner and "Adventure Time" author Adam Muto and storyboard artist Ashlyn Anstee will be involved.
