First Image of "Fast and Furious 11" Released
Vin Diesel wants Robert Downey Jr. as the villain
First signs of life for the grand finale of the "Fast and Furious" saga: Just in time for Father's Day, Vin Diesel published the first artwork for "Fast and Furious 11" on his Instagram channel.
Diesel also announced that "Fast and Furious 11" will come with a few changes: the new film will be an American road trip. This announcement fits in with previous rumors that part 11 will return to the origins of the franchise. Instead of world-spanning missions, there will be good old road races again – apparently all over the country. This would likewise match the cost-cutting plans that have recently been rumored: Allegedly, the new film is to be produced significantly cheaper in order to bring in more money.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen who will be the villain in "Fast and Furious 11". According to initial rumors, Jason Momoa will not return in his role as Dante Reyes. Instead, a new antagonist is currently being sought. There are already some first ideas: Vin Diesel wants Oscar winner Robert Downey Jr. to play a character that stands in stark contrast to Dom and his values: a rich tech giant who relies entirely on AI-controlled vehicles – an evil Tony Stark, so to speak.
As things stand, it can be assumed that the cast of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham will return. However, part 10 ended with a huge cliffhanger: the actual fate of many characters is therefore uncertain.
"Fast and Furious 11" is expected to be released in cinemas on June 18, 2026 – exactly 25 years after the release of part 1.
