Hunter Schafer Joins the Cast of Blade Runner 2099
The series is being produced by "Shōgun" director Jonathan van Tulleken
Another star has been found for the new "Blade Runner" series: "Euphoria" actress Hunter Schafer will join the cast of the highly anticipated science fiction series.
This information is based on a report from Variety. Schafer undoubtedly achieved her breakthrough with the Emmy award-winning series "Euphoria", in which she played the role of Jules. She was last seen in theaters in "The Hunger Games" prequel "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes". It is not yet known what role she will play in "Blade Runner 2099".
The plot of the series is set 50 years after "Blade Runner 2049" and could once again focus on the coexistence of humans and replicants. Jonathan van Tulleken, who was most recently involved in the Disney+ series "Shōgun", will be responsible for directing the first two episodes. The lead role will be played by "Everything Everywhere All at Once" star Michelle Yeoh. There is currently no release date for "Blade Runner 2099".
