The story follows Jake Sully, a former marine who is now permanently fused with his Avatar body, as he explores the underwater world of Pandora and tries to protect it from destruction by humans.

The fourth part of James Cameron's "Avatar" saga is currently being planned. The film is due to be released in 2029, following on from "Avatar 3: Fire and Ash". Part 4 is not the end of the series, however, as "Avatar 5" is also planned.
