Overview
A small village in northern France, 1918. When Raphaël returns from the war, nothing is as it was. His wife Marie died shortly after giving birth to their daughter, and now he must care for little Juliette alone. They find shelter in the "Cour des Miracles", a farmstead on the outskirts of the village, run by the resolute Adeline, door to door with the Schmid Marek and his family. They are outsiders in the village, eyed with suspicion, and yet a close-knit, happy community that knows how to defend itself. Juliette grows up, dreamy and headstrong, in intimate agreement with her father, the gifted wood turner, who teaches her not only to work with wood, but also to play the piano, to sing, to draw. One summer, on one of her lonely walks in the forest, Juliette meets a strange old woman who prophesies that one day purple angels will appear in the sky and carry her out into the world. The years go by, the world changes, but Juliette has never forgotten the prophecy. Is it Jean, the adventurer and rupture pilot, whom it will one day blow unawares at her feet, who will bring the promised purple sails?
