The new film, which officially concludes the modern trilogy (and is therefore in fact the fourth part of the series overall) , has been in active production since November 2025.

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan are all returning to their iconic roles. Particularly exciting for fans: filming is taking place directly in Los Angeles for the first time for the reboot series. This supports the assumption that the game has finally spilled over into the real world and that the big city will now be the setting for the jungle invasion.
