Terrifier 3 Ratings & Reviews
- NonPlayableContentJuly 6, 2025A return to the holidays, gore and mime humor spilling out of the stockings. Slightly better than the previous 2 in my opinion. Points for having a fleshed out character that is Art the clown plus Its good to see the story moving around and trying new settings and heros, I would guess we get 5 total movies with one diving deep into what is Art really.
- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025Didn’t like this quite as much as the previous installment, but the kills and gore are still immensely fun. David Howard Thornton continues to impress with his incredibly expressive performance and hilarious miming. The Christmas setting is great (and a $olid move to get your horror franchise to be rewatched during both October and December). Definitely some memorable kills, including some dick violence this time around. I didn’t care much for the final act, though. Thought that none of the characters actions really made much sense, including Art’s. I don’t exactly watch these for the story though and I would be down for Damien Leone getting the runtimes to under 2 hours. sidebar: I saw a story a few weeks ago about how there were 5 animated films in the top ten at the weekend box office for the first time ever. And I saw a different story about how some box office analysts believe Terrifier 3 could have done even better at the box office, but that many theaters were being strict regarding age policy and not letting younger teens purchase tickets. Thus a bunch of them were buying tickets to other films and sneaking in. I did not see anything stories potentially connecting these two story. But it had me thinking that a studio with an animated film release might seriously consider targeting releasing their movie the same week as a Terrifier movie or perhaps the week before it comes out.
- jackmeatNovember 3, 2024My quick rating - 7.1/10 This third installment takes Art the Clown's blood-soaked chaos to a chilling new setting, proving that the horrors of Halloween can spill right into the holiday season. Five years after surviving Art's Halloween massacre, Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) are still haunted by their experiences, clinging to the hope that they can rebuild. But Christmas is no refuge from Art’s relentless violence, and soon, festive cheer transforms into a brutal nightmare. And he isn't alone as Lily has tagged along to help deliver the gruesome fate to seemingly anyone within range. Damien Leone dives fearlessly into holiday horror, delivering scenes packed with carnage and crafted with a grim, unhinged creativity. The gore here is intense, even by Terrifier standards. The practical effects are as gruesome and inventive as ever, with sequences like a deranged dinner scene (reminiscent of An American Werewolf in London) that combine horror with disturbing humor. There’s an artistry to the madness, with the cinematography and effects team working together to create shockingly detailed scenes that are both disturbing and memorable. Leone shows a willingness to push the envelope, ensuring that every scene is a disturbing masterpiece of bloodshed. This time, however, there's an added layer of story to balance the mayhem. The plot doesn't exactly reinvent the wheel, but it explores the trauma Sienna and Jonathan face as they try to move on. Leone has infused just enough story to give us stakes, making Art’s return that much more dreadful. While some of the plot elements are indeed hokey, they add to the charm, capturing the campy spirit of classic holiday horror. Ultimately, Terrifier 3 is unapologetically brutal and doesn’t shy away from shocking its audience. It’s clear Leone and Art the Clown are both here to stay, and Art (David Howard Thornton) has earned his place among modern horror icons. For those who can handle its unrelenting violence, this film is a holiday horror gift. But fair warning: this one's not for the squeamish.
- cultfilmlikerFebruary 26, 2025Gotta say, it’s rare to see a film series get better with every sequel, but it helps when you start at the bottom! (Note: I typed that before the third act, which brought this film below Terrifier 2 imo) Clearly inspired violently by Tobe Hooper, and especially, Rob Zombie, from the casting to the 31 / The Devil’s Rejects feel at points. Still written, shot, and acted like a Hallmark porno tho. It’s hilarious that I’m “complaining” about this but it feels like they haphazardly decided to throw the backstory and therefore an actual plot into it just for shits and gigs. And a shitty story at that. Who would have guessed??
- DevanJanuary 26, 2025Peak cinema
- DJOctober 17, 2024Terrifier 3 took the best parts of 1 (suspense and grit) and the best parts of 2 (special effects, budget) and made a full assault on your senses film. As you'd expect, this has gore and plenty of it, but it's a lot more aggressive than Terrifier 2. You either like extreme violence movies or you don't, but if you do this is one hell of a ride!
- adam3199June 29, 2025Terrifier 1 was blah, Terrifier 2 gained global PR for a good reason, This one goes back to 1,
- sopulaMay 29, 2025Ok this was a bit darker then terrifier 2, clown man is as fantastic as ever some truly hilarious parts, some entertaining, well “executed”, creative kill scenes. But his sidekick zombie girl was really fucked up and not very jovial There were a couple scenes i found upsetting which I’m sure was on purpose, so well done
- cbran13May 16, 2025A new horror icon is here with Art the Clown. Depraved gore at its finest.
- capitolfiMarch 30, 2025Christmas came early. The Terrifier series has taken off thanks to two things. The first is the curiosity factor. For genre virgins or lightweights, there's a need to scratch a media induced itch. Is it really as bad as they say it is? Will I walk out, or lose my cookies, or pass out? The other is the affection of genre enthusiasts. Leone absolutely panders to a very specific type of sick fuck...and I proudly count myself among them. As for this this one specifically, it's the most proficiently made of the bunch. Better performances, better writing, better production design. It's a significant step up in that regard. The practical effects are impressive, the type where you utter fuck that's gross as you giggle your demented ass off. The music remains a stellar throwback to the synth heavy films of the slasher heyday. And finally, there's a meanness to alot of it that grounds the silliness. All good things. I also have to mention how good Thornton is. He's truly created an iconic baddie with nothing but his facial expressions and his mannerisms. Art is fucking awesome. LaVera is also much better in 3 which is good since she'll apparently be back. The (minor) letdowns. I liked the little girl clown from 2 better than the sidekick in this one. And yeah, it's gory, but there's nothing as disturbing as that one scene in 2...you know the one.
- Lucas JärmarkFebruary 7, 2025Not so scary, dragging story. Okay gore, looked fake alot of times. Terrifier 2 were better with gore.
- Hipster ZOMBIEJanuary 26, 2025Art the clown ruins Christmas in this second sequel in the Terrifier franchise. The kills are creative and the gore is next level. Despite Art winking at the camera a little too much this time around, the sequel is an acceptable follow up to Terrifier 2. However a lot of the film feels like set up for another sequel leaving this one feeling like an appetizer rather than a main course.
- sKRxPTidNovember 6, 2024Art is one of the most original and truly Terrifying icons of the slasher genere. True to form, each film enhances the saga, and Terrifier 3 is no exception. Can't wait to see more Art the Clown n the future. 7.1/10
- thesubcon3October 27, 2024Now our yearly Xmas viewing!
- Ryan GOctober 26, 2024Absolutely disgusting, but still can’t help but watch ART.
